Soul Astrology Meditation

Hello everyone,

Someone sent me this question in an email earlier this week.

Since I am often asked how people can apply Soul Astrology in practice, I felt the answer was important to share with everyone here:

Q: Do you have any insight on the most effective types of meditation techniques for different astrological signs/houses?

A: This is an excellent question that goes right to the heart of Soul Astrology in practice.

I haven’t written much about it – except for the little bits in personal Soul Astrology reports and recent newsletters – because the intellect has a tendency to generate complexity, which clouds the issue, especially in the written word.

(because consciousness is evolving from instinct to intellect to intuition to illumination etc. – see earlier posts and newsletters – we don’t want to be stuck in intellect – our meditation should open our intuitive capacities if we are practicing correctly)

So I’m still contemplating the best approach – I will certainly be saying more about Soul Astrology Meditation on my YouTube channel going forward https://www.youtube.com/@soul_astrology

and I may at some point offer a Zoom group (if I can coax my 12th house planets out of hibernation for long enough)!

The basic principle and purpose of meditation is the same for everyone, but depending upon whether we are dominated by ‘magnetic‘ or ‘electric‘ signs the actions we need to take to return to center will be different.

(Read more about magnetic and electric signs in newsletters from Sep 2014, Dec 2022, April 2023 in the newsletter archive – if you’re not on my mailing list you can sign up HERE – you will have instant access to the archive to read past newsletters)

If you haven’t done so already, I highly recommend you get a copy of

“Openness, Clarity and Sensitivity” by Rigdzin Shikpo

(you can order it here – https://www.longchenfoundation.org/books-and-media/ )

and establish a regular formless meditation practice to start getting familiar with your energy field through your own direct experience.

Carefully study the chapter called “Balancing The Five Faculties” (in my copy this begins on page 65).

This deserves deep contemplation, combined with insight gained from our own experience. Depending upon the configuration of our astrological energies, how we balance these faculties will be a different experience for everyone.

To start with, keep it simple – by observing how the energy of your Sun, Moon, and Rising Sign shows up in your meditation.

Hope this helps and stay tuned, I will certainly be saying more about this in future – but perhaps not in writing!

Enjoy your ongoing journey of self-exploration with Soul Astrology,

with very best wishes,

Ruth
